I'm not sure why the ticket was closed - I am replying as soon as possible.
I checked the General setting in the preferences tab. The setting, "Set as default file browser" is NOT checked.

May I ask you to reset your PathFinder preferences by clearing them up?
Please follow the instruction and check if the issue still persists:
Okay, I used the App Cleaner tool. And reinstalled from a zip file within the App folder.
Restarted and of course PF no longer has my name or license information. However, the problem persists. PF is on every desktop unlike all my other apps - they remain on the desktop they were opened.
I checked the Preferences pane within PF - and I really don't see any option there that would change this behavior.
Sorry for suggesting you the reinstall since it didn't help.
It's just that you mentioned that it wasn't like this before.
Do you remember anything that was changed on your Mac when this started happening?
Also, am I right to suppose that you have "Show PathFinder Desktop" unchecked at PathFinder > Preferences > Features > Desktop?
Please follow the instruction and check if the issue still persists, this should fix "move to apps folder" issue:
Open your terminal and paste the following command to check if Path Finder has been slapped with the quarantined extended attribute:
xattr /Applications/"Path Finder.app"
If you see com.apple.quarantine returned as output from that last command, then go ahead and run this next command:
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/"Path Finder.app"
You won't get any feedback or output from that command, but that's okay because you can just run the first command again to see for yourself if the com.apple.quarantine attribute shows up again. It shouldn't, and now Path Finder is freed from Apple quarantine jail. Restart your PathFinder now.
Here's your PathFinder 7 license:
Name: Chris Berardi
Registration key: PF7:GAWQE-FAQL2-KT6VA-9X5WB-ZYLHU-YVE8R-VUMPG-3TQYC-CUAKD-NQFM7-WRT72-JKDPB-WSWQF-YVW6Y-A8RLL-A-23UU1
I ran the XATTR command and that fixed the issue of the OS wanting to copy it to the Applications folder.
By the way, I installed the new Version 8 of the program. My license file doesn't work so I'll have to update - IF we can get this bug fixed!
However, it still shows on all desktops, but now it sits behind any active apps that were on those desktops.
It seems trivial, but it really bothers me - I have desktops configured for different work and PathFinder shows up everywhere - though as I've said at least it is behind active apps on that desktop.
