Windows 10

When attempting to connect to Parallels VM Windows 10 I get the message - "The server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again."
Finder has no problem connecting - is there a solution?

    Hi Nick,

    Provided you know its address, you should be able to connect. 
    For example, if your Windows computer is named "MyPC", you can invoke Connect to Server… panel/sheet (cmd+K), select CUSTOM tab and type in the Address: field
    smb://mypc/shared_folder

    If you leave "shared_folder" part out, you'll be asked to which shared folder to connect to during the connection process.
    From then on, that share will appear in the "Recent Server" list and you'll be able to select it afterwards using Go > Recent Servers… from the main menu.

    Thanks for your answer.

    I appreciate that it can be time consuming to compile a definitive user manual. However the benefits to the consumer can be enormous. Even If you only addressed each of the items in your Features section of your website it would be a start.

    File management is of enormous interest to us average users, and even more so to a more ‘serious’ or professional user. It’s a matter of course that we would want to get the most from any program dedicated to making it easier. I believe you’re not doing your own program justice by holding back on explaining its functionality.

    Your program is not cheap. Don’t devalue it by withholding a full explanation of its potential.
