OSX 10.13.2, MBP 15 inch mid-2017 PathFinder Version: 7.6.2 (1729)

I have not been able to use PathFinder for a while now as every time that I start it, it keeps constantly using around 50% CPU and it also makes coreservicesd use around 80% CPU, even letting run overnight. Attached process sample for Pathfinder.

I see there is another discussion about it but it has been closed(why? there is no resolution) (http://support.cocoatech.com/discussions/problems/68808-high-cpu-lo...).

I have tried uninstalling PathFinder and re-installed several times with no luck for the problem to go away. Please advice.

    Hi Juan,

You are right, unfortunately, it is a known issue.

May I ask you to replace Preview and Info modules with any other ones in shelves and check if it makes any difference?
Don't collapse them, just right-click and choose any other.

The forum is integrated with our CRM system and it automatically closes tickets after each reply.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hi Jordan,

I changed them to “Size” and “Attributes” respectively with no difference.

    Please advice.

    Thank you - Juan

    Hi Juan,

Thank you for checking that on your side.

In this case, let's wait until a fix is released.
Our developers are aware of this issue probably working on a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.

    Hi Jordan,

Is there a timeline for when this might be solved? As I explained I am not using it because of the high cpu usage which conflicts with my work. I have not been using it for more than a month now and I see the issue had already been raised since October 2017 at which time your developers seemed to have started working on a fix.

Really like PathFinder (which is the reason I bought a license, you can use this email address to verify license if you need to) so having not to use it seems kind pointless, don’t you agree?

    Thank you - Juan

I too am suffering from this issue. It seems like it started happening when the latest Intel fix came from Apple, as nothing else has changed on my system since then. The high CPU utlitization comes and goes without warning, but once it comes, it never goes away and the fans are spinning and Path Finder is at 130% plus CPU utilization. There is not much else to explain this. The only solution is to quit PF. But even when I re-launch it, the problem may or may not come back.

Has there been any updates? Have your developers made any progress in fixing this issue?

    Hi,

Could you please follow the instruction and check if the issue still persists:
    1. Enable List View (in the Toolbar)
    2. Use cmd+J
    3. Disable "Tags" column if it's enabled.

Let me know how it goes.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan
