memory leak

Have reported this multiple times as have others, and yes I am pretty sure I even provided a sample of the process. Keep having to quit PF or just not use it since it starts hogging memory (as much as 17 GB). Just now it went over 2 GB on an 8-GB machine.

Any eta on a fix? Please-this often keeps me from even bothering to open PF.

BTW, I recently did the stock advice and uninstalled and reinstalled PF. As you can see, that didn't work.

Bottom line: keep the app open and use it as normal, and it will end up slowing down or even stopping your computer. It did that to mine, which is how I noticed the 17 GB RAM use in the first place.

    Hello Cocoatech

With respect, this memory leak issue has been going on for far too long. Can't anyone solve it? I love PF, so for how much longer do I have to go without using my licensed software? PF is unusable without a fix for this.

    Hi,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Have you tried the following steps:
     - Close all extra PathFinder windows (leave only one opened)   - Open View Options (⌘+J)   - Choose "Restore all defaults" at the bottom

Also, worth trying to replace Preview modules with any other ones.

We are currently beta-testing the new version which has shown no signs of this issue so far.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan

    Hi,

This must be a 2-3 months old request. As I reached out on various channels: forum, email, Twitter, etc.
Since then I got response about a month ago.
Looking forward for an updated version.

    With kind regards. Dmitry

Massive memory leak. Path Finder over 100G while idle--not being used by me.

Don't give me your usual bullshit. Admit your development staff is clueless and unresponsive.

    Accept full responsibility and blame.

    Promise a fix.

Anymore bullshit denial and I'm done with your product and will request a refund.

    Hi Lewis,

We are currently beta-testing the new version which contains a fix.

No denials that we are responsible, no denials that this issue persists.

Temporary workarounds for the current version are also listed above.
Unfortunately, they may not help all the users.

Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience.

    Best Regards,
