See attached. Path Finder 8 is not showing all created files. Apple finder is showing all.

    Hi,

    Thank you for contacting us!

Could you please specify what is the file system of this volume and what is the connection type? Have you tried using a Refresh button in Path Finder? Try adding it to the toolbar if you don't have it yet.

Also, I wonder if you see any logging messages coming from Path Finder (use Console.app to see those messages) at the moment Path Finder fails to display a freshly created file?

    Best Regards,
    Eugene,

    Hi,
It's a Windows file server. Correct; new files just created aren't showing.
The refresh button is also not working. I have to quit the application and
reopen for the files to appear.

    Hi Terry,

May I ask if you see any logging messages coming from Path Finder (use Console.app to see those messages) at the moment this irregularity happens? As well, could you send us a sample (a snapshot) of Path Finder process in a separate file - this will enable us to analyze what happens with the application. Here's how to get it:

    1. Open Path Finder and reproduce the problem.
    2. Open Activity Monitor from the /Applications/Utilities folder.
    3. Select Path Finder in the process list. To help making a selection, type "Path Finder" in the Filter field.
    4. Click the Sample Process button in the toolbar - this will open a new window entitled "Sample of Path Finder" and a sample of the process is collected.
    5. Click Save and save the sample file.
    6. Close (Command-W) the Sample window opened in step 2.
    7. Send the sample file saved in step 5 to us.

Looking forward to your reply to provide you with further assistance.

    Best Regards,
    Steven,

Now my folders are disappearing for some reason in this instance. I really rely on PathFinder a lot and I’m hoping you can fix these issues.

    thx

    Hi Terry,

I'm really sorry to hear about that. Without logs and process samples our developer can't see what's happening to Path Finder and your system. Please collect and send us those files and we'll start investigating your issue. The similar one has been reported before and our developer is aware of it, but to stay on the safe side, we would better double check.

    Best Regards,
    Eugene,

    Hi,

Indeed, should've checked the forum before asking for logs. We're using the CRM system which is integrated with that forum and it fails to sync attachments sometimes.

Your request is sent to the developer, they'll get back to you as soon as they can. There're high chances it'll get fixed in Path Finder 8, I'll let you know when we have a working build so that you can check it.

Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.

    Best Regards,
    Eugene,

    Hi Terry,

Most likely, it'll be ready before the High Sierra release. I'll send you the beta once it's ready for public testing.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Thanks!
It's also been causing a spinning beach ball a couple times a day. At first
I thought it was our file server but when I stopped using Path Finder the
beach ball is no more. Hope it gets fixed.

    Hi,
Please follow the instruction and check if the issue still persists:

    1. Make sure that Path Finder is located in the Applications folder
(in case you are using macOS Mojave) Use System Preferences > Security & Privacy > grant Full Disk Access to Path Finder

    2. Open your terminal and paste the following command to check if Path Finder has been slapped with the quarantined extended attribute:
      xattr /Applications/"Path Finder.app"

    3. If you see com.apple.quarantine returned as output from that last command, then go ahead and run this next command:
      xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/"Path Finder.app"

You won't get any feedback or output from that command, but that's okay because you can just run the first command again to see for yourself if the com.apple.quarantine attribute shows up again. It shouldn't, and now Path Finder is freed from Apple quarantine jail. Restart your PathFinder now.

    Will this make a difference?

    Best Regards,
    Jordan
