The attached file shows what I get when I open a window when clicking a folder on the desktop.

I can fix this issue by opening the minimized Path Finder window in the dock and then reopening the desktop folder.

    Hi Steve,

May I ask you to follow the instruction and check if the issue still persists:

    1. Delete Path Finder and its traces according to the article:
      http://support.cocoatech.com/kb/installation-and-compatibility/how-...
    2. Download the latest version of the app from our site
    3. Launch Path Finder and move it to the Apps folder as the app suggests

Let me know how it goes.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan

I sent you an email earlier today but here is what happened when I followed the above directions. I reinstalled Path Finder. When I run it, it launches, but the Finder remains the desktop manager. For example, if I minimize Path Finder and click on the desktop, the Finder remains the active application. I've already give Path Finder permissions in the Security setting, so I am at a loss as to what the issue is.

    Please make sure that you:
    1. Enable "Set as the default browser" in Preferences > General
    2. Enable Path Finder Desktop in Preferences > Features > Desktop

Those were both enabled and the behavior I've described has been occurring with those settings activated and continues as of now.

Now, here's an interesting thing. When I use AppCleaner to delete Path Finder, my original preferences remain even though not traces of the program remain when I do a search. Is there a preference file lurking around somewhere that is not being deleted? Where are those settings housed?

    OK, Jordan

I have it figured out. You should be able to easily reproduce it now.

    1. Quit and restart Path Finder so you operating from a clean slate.
    2. Open Path Finder from the Dock. Close it with the Yellow minimize button.
    3. Open a folder from the desktop and then close it. Reopen it and you will get a blank browser window.

    4. Now, quit Path Finder and then relaunch. Open it from the dock, but this time, close it using the Red close button. You may get a warning asking do you really want to do this.

    5. You can now open and close desktop folder browser windows normally.

The issue for me is that I want the browser tabs to be persistent. When you close a browser launched from the Dock with the Red quit button, the browser tabs are not persistent. It kind of makes them useless.
