Hello,
it seams that the favourites always get lost in PF8, that hasn't been the case with PF7 and before.
Favourites are also reset after an update.
Used Servers and vnc is still not working as expected.
cheers
Matthias

    Hi Matthias,

Please follow the instruction and check if the issue still persists:

    1. Make sure that Path Finder is located in the Applications folder
(in case you are using macOS Mojave) Use System Preferences > Security & Privacy > grant Full Disk Access to Path Finder

    2. Open your terminal and paste the following command to check if Path Finder has been slapped with the quarantined extended attribute:
      xattr /Applications/"Path Finder.app"

    3. If you see com.apple.quarantine returned as output from that last command, then go ahead and run this next command:
      xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/"Path Finder.app"

You won't get any feedback or output from that command, but that's okay because you can just run the first command again to see for yourself if the com.apple.quarantine attribute shows up again. It shouldn't, and now Path Finder is freed from Apple quarantine jail. Restart your PathFinder now.

Don't hesitate to contact us should any questions arise.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan

    Hi Jordan,

    I still run Sierra ;-)
The command xattr shows nothing neither as logged in user or as sudo.

btw, the beta program I was in has expired or?

    cheers

    Hi Matthias,

Do you plan to update to Mojave at some point?
Or is it your hardware that doesn't support the upgrade?

What beta program are you referring to?

    Best Regards,

    Hi Matthias,

That beta program is no longer in place.

We are looking into other options of beta-testing now.

    Hello,
I'm still loosing my favourites :(
What happens is, that nearly (!) on every restart of my box Pathfinder displays a dialog-window with the activation data and tells me that PF is activated… I have to click on the button to start PF. So I'd guess the issue has to do with registration and activation.
    cheers

    Hi Matthias,

May I ask you to follow the instruction and check if the issue still persists:

    1. Delete Path Finder and its traces according to the article:
      http://support.cocoatech.com/kb/installation-and-compatibility/how-...
    2. Download the latest version of the app from our site
    3. Launch Path Finder and move it to the Apps folder as the app suggests
    4. Check for quarantine attribute and Full Disk Access as suggested earlier

Let me know how it goes.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan

    Jordan,
I followed that and PF was in quarantine again. On MacOS 10.12.6 I
can’t set fullDiskAccess to an application via the control panel.
I deactivated quarantine status again and it looks like working.
does PF creates his own Favorites menu?
It’s at least not reading the one, the Finder is using.
I believe that had been different with past versions of PF.
btw, the app AppCleaner left my registration info intact, so it
    doesn’t clean everything ;-)
    cheers

    Hi Matthias,

The API for that functionality (syncing "Favorites" and in general all those "Recent…" lists) was deprecated and abandoned a long time ago. In each new version of PF it worked worse. We tried having that as long as possible, but we cross the point at which it became a liability and not feature. It became a real pain, both in customer support and code maintenance. We don't want to make any kind of excuses here, but in this case, it's really Apple to blame. As far as we know, no other 3rd party application offers that sort of synchronization, even if they did they gave up a long time ago. We kept it as long as possible, but the burden of supporting it became just too overwhelming for the benefits it provides.

The app gets activated using your machine's MAC address which is stored online, that's why the activation wasn't gone.

Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan
