Hi,
I frequently click on the Finder icon to open a file in PF in a new Finder window. I don't know if it's just me but this not longer works in Mojave and PF 8.2.4.

Thanks

    Hi,

Are you referring to the Finder icon in Toolbar?
May I ask you to follow the instruction and check if the issue still persists:

    1. Delete Path Finder and its traces according to the article:
      http://support.cocoatech.com/kb/installation-and-compatibility/how-...
    2. Download the latest version of the app from our site
    3. Launch Path Finder and move it to the Apps folder as the app suggests

Let me know how it goes.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan

    Hi,

I followed those steps and it still doesn't work.

Yes, I was referring to the Finder icon in the toolbar. In addition (and I hadn't tested this until today), the right click contextual menu item doesn't work and the key shortcut option-command-F similarly doesn’t work.

I use this function a lot as I there are certain files I like to view in Finder. Any other ideas?

    Thanks,

    Paul

I got around this by creating a macro in Keyboard Maestro replicating the option-command-F keystroke, but it's suboptimal.

    Hi Paul,

Please also follow the instructions below and check if this issue still persists:

    1. Make sure that Path Finder is located in the Applications folder
(in case you are using macOS Mojave) Use System Preferences > Security & Privacy > grant Full Disk Access to Path Finder

    2. Open your terminal and paste the following command to check if Path Finder has been slapped with the quarantined extended attribute:
      xattr /Applications/"Path Finder.app"

    3. If you see com.apple.quarantine returned as output from that last command, then go ahead and run this next command:
      xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/"Path Finder.app"

You won't get any feedback or output from that command, but that's okay because you can just run the first command again to see for yourself if the com.apple.quarantine attribute shows up again. It shouldn't, and now Path Finder is freed from Apple quarantine jail. Restart your PathFinder now.

Don't hesitate to contact us should any questions arise.

    Hi,

    Step 1 - done.
    Step 2 - com.apple.quarantine present.
    Step 3 - removed.

Problem still persists. I cannot open a file in Finder.
