Sidebar preferences stick intermittently

I have created a set of preferences for the side bar ans saved them under the gear in the side bar. However, the preferences disappear at random. Right now, I see the following behavior:

  1. I click the gear in the sidebar and under Settings choose my personal settings.
  2. The settings become active.
  3. I open a new window, and it uses my personal settings.
  4. I close all pathfinder windows and open a new one. It has the default settings for PF8, not my customizations.

    Hi,

Creating a new browser is supposed to use the default preferences, at the moment.
This behavior is often questioned by our users so our developers will surely have a deeper look into it at some point.

Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.

This is not the behavior I see right now. I ended up removing and reinstalling PF8. I have saved my custom settings, and so far they seem to stick every time I open a new browser, whether there is a PF browser window open or not. This is not what you say is supposed to happen. I have a screen recording but it is too big to upload here.

    Hi,

No need to upload the recording now, thank you. I will review this behavior myself.

Let's hope the preferences will not vanish on a clean install.
