If I search for any file present on the encrypted dmg, I get no results.

However, I can see all files on the mounted dmg in the path finder window!!

Please help!!

I am running PF 8.2 (1885) on High Sierra 10.13.6.

    Hi Vijay,

Are you using the Find window (cmd+F)?
Which search mode are you using?
You can switch the mode on your Toolbar above the file browser.

    Hi Jordan

    Thank you for your response.

Enclosing a snapshot of the issue I am facing.

cmd+F window returns nothing for the searched files on the mounted volumes (Both Secure and Unsecure). But, when I try the same search on OS Finder, it shows me the required files.

Unsure what is wrong and PF is unable to find the files. Please assist.

I am also enclosing the two tiny dmg files to help you with your analysis on the issue. The password for the Secure File is 123.

    Thank you

    Hello Jordan

I had provided my response to your questions on the support page yesterday.

I had also uploaded supporting documents to help replicate the issue.

Can I assume that was adequate?

When can I expect solution to the problem?

    Many thanks

    Vijay

    Thank you for your response.

I have tried both the triggers - Menubar as well as Toolbar, but no luck.

I enclosed a couple of tiny dmg files for your reference. They should assist you in replicating the issue.

    Any chance, you tried them?

    Many thanks

    Hi Jorden

Do you have any update for me please as I am struggling with my workflows on a daily basis with no end to miseries insight.

Please do not give usual reply.

Note that, I am disappointed with the overall communication on various issues highlighted on the support forum and I echo the sentiments of many other users.

On my part, I fail to understand why PF8 is facing so many major issues with Mojave now (after a couple of weeks) and what about so many other unresolved issues for which I am advised to be patient. Why there was a rush to release a half baked upgrade product and charge for it?

Could I request you be slightly more sensitive and receptive to us who are in this category and do not know where to go?

    Hi Vijay,

Have you tried following the instructions below?

    1. Make sure that Path Finder is located in the Applications folder
(in case you are using macOS Mojave) Use System Preferences > Security & Privacy > grant Full Disk Access to Path Finder

    2. Open your terminal and paste the following command to check if Path Finder has been slapped with the quarantined extended attribute:
      xattr /Applications/"Path Finder.app"

    3. If you see com.apple.quarantine returned as output from that last command, then go ahead and run this next command:
      xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/"Path Finder.app"

You won't get any feedback or output from that command, but that's okay because you can just run the first command again to see for yourself if the com.apple.quarantine attribute shows up again. It shouldn't, and now Path Finder is freed from Apple quarantine jail. Restart your PathFinder now.

    Best Regards,
    Jordan

    Hi Jordan

    Appreciate you quick reply.

Yup. I tried all the instructions mentioned below. That means

    1. Granted full access to Path Finder in the Applications folder.
    2. Ran command xattr /Applications/“PatFinder.app” from the terminal. However, I did not get any messages.
    3. Restarted PathFinder.
    4. Tried making Find search on the mounted dmg drive. But, as earlier, Find did not return any files. In other words, no success.

However, I still ask you the same question, I asked a few weeks back.

Did your developer used the test files I sent you for replicating the issue?

That should help them immensely in locating the issue.

    Please advise.

    Many thanks

    Hi Vijay,

Unfortunately, our developers are unable to respond to minor issues (that don't affect many users) while there are major ones.
Are we sure that Find should be working on an encrypted dmg? Well, for safety reasons it may not work, correct me if I'm wrong here.

    Hi Jordan

Let me answer you second point first.

There could be two type of dmg files. Encrypted or non-Encrypted.

At the moment, PF8 doesn’t work on both of them.

Now coming back to your first point. If the highlighted issue is a minor issue, then I understand there are no resolution timeline for such issues with the support team!!!

Well, I am disappointed and wish to move.

Please cancel my purchase of PF8 upgrade and initiate $20 refund.

    Many thanks for your support.

Sorry if my previous response wasn't clear. I've never meant to say that this issue isn't important for us.
It's just that we have to deal with the ones that are reported more often.
If you check out our forum, you can find out that developers' primary focus now is implementing the dark mode.

I have forwarded your email to our Sales Department.

When can I expect my refund please?

Why there is such a reluctance and a long delay?

Note that I have now moved on beyond PF8. Sadly, after 3 years of association.

The upgraded product has stopped me providing the experience I paid for.

Now, the least Cocoatech team can do for me is to help move out gracefully.

Please revoke my license immediately and refund my amount.

What a shameful way Sales Team treats your existing customers!! Pathetic.

With such a poorly baked product, unsatisfactory service and hopeless customer management, do you think their attitude is really helping this company?

Note that none of the views expressed above are against you, but for the Sales Team which is duping its customers of their hard earned money!!

Aren't there any owners who are listening to such greivances? If yes, could you share my pain, frustration and feedback with them?

    Hi Jason,

I do not know what are Sales intentions.

But from my perspective, they have been rather apathetic (to the extent of being arrogant) and grossly insensitive.

You can’t imagine how have I managed my workflows to deliver my professional commitments for the past 2 months due to these issues.

Anyhow now, I do not care about fixing the issue anymore as I have found other solutions - more cost effective and yet elegant.

Its just that $20 would help me to recover some of my reinvestment.

    Many thanks
