"Open in Terminal" bug with iTerm2

I like being able to right-click on something in Path Finder and choose "Open in Terminal," and I especially like that I can set iTerm2 as the app to open. But I never liked that that always opens a new tab, so I dug around in the iTerm2 preferences, and I discovered that I could check the "Open in a new window, never in a tab" option in my default profile's "Window" preferences.

This seemed to solve my problem until I tried doing this with a directory other than my home folder. Now, if I have an iTerm2 window (window A) already open and then click "Open in Terminal" in Path Finder—say, on ~/Desktop—a new iTerm2 window (window B) opens but it's pointed at ~. If I do it again, another iTerm2 window (window C) opens and is pointed at ~, but window B changes to ~/Desktop.

Not sure if this is an issue with Path Finder or with iTerm2, of course.

I'm using Path Finder 8.0.2 (1871), iTerm2 3.1.6, MacOS Sierra 10.12.6.
