I often drag files to the printer icon on the dock to print without a dialog. Anyway to add a printer icon to the toolbar or sidebar?

(I'm just being lazy, I can easily drag to the dock printer icon... but just incase there is a way to keep it all within PF that would be nice)

thank you,

    Hi,

Have you tried dragging it into Devices section? Nothing else we can do here.

Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.

I've switched back to PF7 so I can only test this on the older version. But I can drag the printer app from the "username">Library>Printers folder to Favorites in PF7 (Devices doesn't work) and I can now drag images/docs to the printer app in Favorites and it will print w/o a dialog.

I would assume it would also work on PF8 but I can't test it until the sidebar saving issues are resolved in the new version.

    Hi,

Well, Sidebar differs in PathFinder 8. You can drag only folders there.
While in PathFinder 7 you could add apps, aliases, files etc.

Please feel free to write us back and we will be happy to assist you.

    Hi,

It's often questioned by our users. So our developers will consider changing this behavior.

    thank you, much appreciated.

Is the problem with the favorites not sticking in PF8 a problem with the current version of PF8? or is this a problem with our computers such as bad prefs, bad app install, legacy PF files, or something specific to a particular MacOS or any Mac hardware versions?

    thanks

    Hi,

I can say for sure that it doesn't happen to all of our users.
For example, our beta-testers never experienced this problem.
But we still need to find the cause and fix it for the ones it does happen.

Have the developers been able to recreate the problem or do they need system specs for the people experiencing the problems?

Also the following from the KB was last updated in 2014, is this still correct or were additional files added since 2014?

    Hi,

The instructions are still actual. Should you decide to get a clean install, make sure to follow steps below:

    1. Delete Path Finder and its traces according to the article:
      http://support.cocoatech.com/kb/installation-and-compatibility/how-...
    2. Download the latest version of the app from our site
    3. Copy zipped app to the Applications folder
    4. Unzip it into the Apps folder and launch

You can always share the specs, doing so won't harm for sure.
Unfortunately, I'm not aware of the developers' workflow so can't really say regarding the progress in fixing this issue.

thanks again, unless I find myself with a bunch of free time I'll hold off on retesting until I see a new version pop-up. It's always expected that there will be some bumps along the way with new versions, so no worries.... I'll try to be patient.

    best regards.
