I also have this issue. I have several browser windows minimized to the dock, but when I double-click a desktop icon on any of my spaces or right-click and choose new browser, I get the blank window. If I choose a new browser pointing to Home, I get a good window. If I restore a minimized window and then try to create a new browser by clicking a desktop icon or right-clicking New Window on the dock, I get a good window.
I have this problem too: blank windows without apparent reason.
At may 5-10% of New Browser actions (double-click or otherwise) the new window
shows up blank, and every follow-up New Browser action also produces a blank
window. Only a restart fixes this issue, only to appear at some other time.
I deleted the com.cocoatech.PathFinder.plist file as recommended, but this
did not resolve the problem.
Other observations: when problem occurs other PathFInder windows such as
About and Preferences seem to operate normally. Also some icons in the toolbar
of the otherwise blank window are active, e.g., Open Terminal produces a terminal
window in the correct directory.
PathFinder version 8.0.4 (1875)

Add me to the list of those who have been bitten by this bug. I am using ver. 8.2.4 under MacOS 10.14 in dark mode. The computer affected is a MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, 2017)
I have PathFinder on a number of other Macs all running Mojave and not are affected -- yet. Playing with the Window|Modules command (which I find confusing and opaque) I have been unable to make any of the icons 'stick' when I have dragged them to the desktop.)
For the moment, rather than deleting everything and starting over, I have simply stopped using the affected computer in hopes that a less drastic fix will emerge.

On the advice of Cocoatech support, I deleted, downloaded and reinstalled. It worked but required that I completely reconfigure PathFinder from scratch. That was a pain but, probably worse, I am still running on a trial version because the reinstallation requires that I enter a new password on each of my computers -- if there is a way to reuse the passwords that were used on my previous installations, I don't know what it is.
If support is reading this, please tell me what to do. It seems unfair in the extreme that I will have to buy new installation passwords after PathFinder failed and had to be reinstalled.
Add me to the List!! Here are some screenshots of the problem I am having!! https://cl.ly/fa6fb90be3e7https://cl.ly/93a4e9b6d707https://cl.ly/b97049121368 IF I quit PF8 and reopen it then it returned as the saved layout but sometimes with missing panels!! As I mentioned in the post I have RE-INSTALLED PF8 and deleted everything from the previous install and still getting the error!! I encounter the Problem in both my Mac Pro and MacBook Pro Running Sierra 10.12.6 and the Mac Pro Running High Sierra 10.13.1IT worked for a few Days but then I got the same problem back!!!! Can Anyone AT LEAST CONFIRM THAT THERS IS A PROBLEM!!! AN NO!!! PF IS NOT IN QUARANTINE !!! PF has been very unreliable, to say the least!!!
In my case, to replicate this bug:
Open the Size Browser. Pick any item in the list. Click the "Show" button in the toolbar in the upper left.
A blank PF window will open.
Notice the little black squares in the lower right and left of the window.
Click and drag one of them to resize the window.
The window is still blank but now the background color is black.
From this point forward, all new browser windows in PF are blank. But, if you click on a browser window that was previously open before invoking the Size Browser, newly created browser windows are normal.
Just found that this bug is now persistent.
I closed the browser window that was previously open before invoking the Size Browser. Even after quitting PF and/or restarting the system all new browser windows are blank, rendering PF unusable. This is not a small bug!
With the bug persisting as per my last post, and with no PF browser windows open, I went to the Path Finder menu and selected Hide Path Finder Desktop. After the screen settled down I went back to the Path Finder menu and selected Show Path Finder Desktop. After waiting for the screen to refresh, I opened a new browser window. All back to normal.
